The Civic and Community Engagement Office inspires lives of active citizenship and social responsibility in a diverse and complex society and connects students, faculty, staff, and community partners through reciprocal curricular and co-curricular community-engaged learning to address identified community needs.
The Civic and Community Engagement Office at Buffalo State, SUNY's urban-engaged institution, will be a national leader in community-engaged learning, known for the following:
providing meaningful community-based curricular and co-curricular experiences for students to lead lives of active citizenship;
coordinating high quality, reciprocal partnerships with local, regional, national, and international community-based organizations that impact our students, the institution, and the community;
creating collaborations with faculty and staff across the campus to develop mutually beneficial service-learning experiences that reinforce course learning.
