Thinking about your spring break or summer break plans? Consider joining the Alternative Break program on a week-long service trip experience. Each trip experience has a focus on a particular social justice issue that you'll learn more about through hands-on projects with nonprofit community organizations. Throughout the experience, you'll gain leadership skills, take action, and make a difference alongside a team of 10 other Buffalo State students.
At our General Interest Meeting you will learn what you can expect if you participate in one of the spring and summer break trip experiences, including service projects, housing accommodations, transportation details, and more. Information about the application process, fundraising & scholarship opportunities, and pre-trip Orientation Meetings will also be discussed with the student site leaders coordinating the trip experiences.
This spring and summer we are focusing on:
- environmental conservation and justice at Sky Meadows State Park, VA from March 21-28,2020
- refugee and immigrant issues in Buffalo, NY from March 22-27, 2020
- educational access and achievement in Baltimore, MD from May 17-22, 2020
