Alongside a broad coalition of local nonprofit organizations, including Cass Community Social Services and Gleaners Community Food Bank, some students are spending their break learning about food security, access to healthy foods, and how food issues intersect with poverty and social justice in Detroit.
Other students are learning more about how human trafficking effects every community and how organizations work to care for individuals. Students are volunteering with the Samaritan Woman on a variety of tasks that will help build capacity for organizations who seek to end this issue in the Baltimore community.
