Increased opportunities exist for Buffalo State students to engage in volunteer and service-learning activities in unique and developing countries throughout the world. Courses are being created and expanded that will provide cross-cultural, experiential education and opportunities to collaborate with diverse community members to address social problems and issues in the country you are visiting and staying.
Global service-learning projects provide opportunities to connect curriculum and service to address problems that face diverse communities. Global service-learning courses typically take place during winter intersession or in the summer months, and can vary from 2-4 weeks in length.

Nicaragua Winter Service-Learning Program through SUNY Geneseo
Peru Service-Learning Summer Program through SUNY Binghamton
Service Learning and Community Development in Malawi through SUNY Binghamton
Scholarships of $250-$1,000 are available for SUNY Buffalo State students to support participation in international service-learning or international volunteer experiences.
