Education in Action

Service-learning courses give you the opportunity to take what you've learned in the classroom and apply it to make a difference. Service-learning provides opportunities to help develop leadership skills, foster professional development, appreciate diversity, and provide opportunities for increased understanding of course material.

"The service learning experience was very fun as well as educational. I also know more about what I do and do not want involving a classroom setting involving behavior management."

Transportation

NFTA Buffalo State Student Transit Pass

If you are using public transportation, please note that the university recently (Fall 2022) updated the system for distributing NFTA passes to students. The University is purchasing monthly passes for distribution to eligible undergraduate students. Students should go to Parking Services In Moot Hall with a photo ID to pick up the monthly pass. The office is open Monday-Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm. No registration is necessary. Questions can be referred to Parking Services.

Please refer to The Niagara Frontier Transit Authority website or call the NFTA Metro Bus at 716-855-7300 for schedule information.

You are expected to report to your community service site at the agreed-upon times for orientations and/or service hours. In the instance you are unable to make your scheduled time due to an emergency or illness, please notify your community partner as far in advance as possible.

If you have any questions or need assistance with transportation issues, contact your course instructor or the Civic and Community Engagement Office.
