The Dr. Katherine S. Conway-Turner Office of Civic and Community Engagement (CCE) is committed to strengthening partnerships with our community partner organizations.  One service we offer to community partners is using the well-respected and centralized VolunteerWNY platform, powered by the Service Collaborative of WNY and the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County.

If you aren’t familiar with VolunteerWNY, it is a one-stop shop for anything and everything related to volunteerism in Western New York. It allows community partners to post on-site and virtual volunteer opportunities and to directly recruit volunteers to address community needs. The platform attracts and informs volunteers regarding ongoing or one-day volunteer opportunities; part-time, full-time, and internship opportunities for SUNY Buffalo State University students, faculty, staff, alumni, and more. This will not only connect your organization to the SUNY Buffalo State community but also to over 700 community agencies and 16,000+ volunteers to address community needs.

For quick communication to the SUNY Buffalo State community, the CCE recommends that community organizations to create an account on VolunteerWNY, to instantly manage their profile, upload postings, and update volunteer opportunities.

Follow these steps to create your agency profile:

  1. Register your organization on VolunteerWNY
    1. Register Here
  2. Create/Manage on-site and virtual volunteer opportunities through the VolunteerWNY Agency Portal
    1. The Agency Manager Video provides an excellent overview on how you can maximize the recruitment of quality volunteers by creating/managing opportunities, tracking volunteers and more.
  3. Join the Buffalo State CCE cluster
    1. Be sure to tag your volunteer opportunity posting to the “Buffalo State CCE” cluster to allow your posting to be highlighted to Buffalo State Community.

***In July 2023, VolunteerWNY was launched. If you have not logged on, create an agency profile and update your information.  If you encounter any issues, please email the CCE or call 716-878-3919***
